Owner & President
Mark J. Flavin founded Titan Mechanical & Plumbing with a simple belief: if you deliver quality work, keep your word, and build strong relationships, success will follow. More than a decade later, those same principles continue to guide every project, partnership, and decision the company makes.
Mark began his career in residential construction as a Construction Manager with Centex Homes, where he learned how buildings come together and gained a deep appreciation for the skilled trades. As his career progressed through project management, sales, and mechanical construction, he developed expertise in estimating, purchasing, operations, and customer relationships. Each role provided a different perspective on the business and reinforced the importance of planning, communication, and accountability.
When Mark launched Titan in 2013, he was involved in every aspect of the business—from estimating projects and issuing purchase orders to managing operations and building client relationships. As the company has grown into a respected mechanical contractor serving Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., his role has evolved from managing the day-to-day details to providing strategic leadership, developing future leaders, and creating opportunities for employees to build rewarding careers.
Mark believes trust is earned long before work begins. Being prepared, communicating clearly, and following through on every commitment are the standards he expects from himself and every member of the Titan team. He also believes quality mechanical work starts well before installation, requiring thoughtful planning, coordination, value engineering, skilled craftsmanship, and a commitment to doing the job right—not simply the fastest way.
For Mark, Titan's greatest accomplishment isn't a single project—it's the company and culture that have been built over the years. What began as a vision has grown into an organization of talented professionals who share a commitment to excellence, teamwork, and accountability. He hopes clients remember Titan as a dependable, honest partner that delivers exceptional work while building lasting relationships.
Outside the office, Mark enjoys spending time with his family and watching the continued growth of the company he built from the ground up. He remains passionate about creating opportunities for others to succeed, believing that Titan's greatest strength has always been its people.
Vice President of Operations
With more than 30 years in the mechanical construction industry, Robby Couch has spent his career working his way up from the field to executive leadership. He began as a laborer alongside his father, cleaning job sites before learning the trade firsthand. Over the years, he has served as a laborer, plumber, foreman, warehouse and service manager, superintendent, and general contractor, building a deep understanding of every stage of commercial HVAC and plumbing operations.
Since joining Titan Mechanical eight years ago, Robby has helped guide the company's growth from a small contractor into a respected mechanical partner serving projects across the Mid-Atlantic. He believes that lasting success comes from doing the right thing, communicating openly, and earning trust through honesty and accountability on every project.
One project that stands out most in his career is the QRS project, where a challenging assignment brought the team together and reinforced his belief that supporting one another is what ultimately drives great results. That team-first mindset continues to shape his leadership style today.
For Robby, Titan is more than a workplace—it's a way of life. He takes pride in the company's culture of developing people. His leadership philosophy is simple: take care of your people, and they'll take care of the business. Whether mentoring the next generation of tradespeople or leading complex projects, he encourages every employee to learn from mistakes, keep moving forward, and never stop improving.
When he's not on a job site, Robby enjoys spending time in his hometown of Purcellville, Virginia, cheering on the Commanders, grabbing a post-project meal at Carmine’s Italian Restaurant or Nick’s Fish House, or relaxing with friends at the local American Legion. After three decades in construction, he still believes there's no other industry he'd rather be part of because it's always evolving and always creating new opportunities.
Vice President of Multifamily
Tommy Mentzer has spent his career building more than multifamily communities—he's built teams, mentored people, and helped shape Titan Mechanical & Plumbing into the company it is today.
Tommy got his start in the late 1990s working alongside his brothers on a piecework HVAC crew, installing copper line sets, setting equipment, running low-voltage wiring, pressure testing systems, and performing start-ups. Those early days taught him a lesson he still lives by today: every successful project starts with a solid plan. If you don't have one before you drill the first hole, the entire crew feels the impact.
Over the years, Tommy worked his way from piece worker to crew leader, foreman, general supervisor, and ultimately Vice President of Multifamily. Along the way, he developed a leadership style built on hard work, honesty, and treating people with respect. Since joining Titan, he's helped grow both the company and its people while continuing to strengthen his own leadership skills.
One project that still stands out is the HVAC installation at Shippensburg University, which was the largest VRF project in the United States at the time. With brand-new technology and a demanding schedule, the project pushed the team in new ways. Completing it successfully—and earning the trust to lead a project of that scale—remains one of Tommy's proudest career accomplishments.
Tommy believes the best projects happen when everyone works as one team. If the mindset is "us versus them," the project struggles. If everyone is working toward the same goal, everyone succeeds. He earns trust by being genuine, approachable, and confident, and he never compromises on being honest, kind, and doing things the right way. A lesson from an early masonry foreman has stayed with him throughout his career: whatever you do, do it with pride because people notice the difference.
Outside of work, Tommy is happiest outdoors. Whether he's riding his dirt bike through the woods, fishing from his boat, hunting in the mountains, or spending time with his family near his home in Pleasant Valley, Maryland, he enjoys the same things that have shaped his career—hard work, adventure, and building something worthwhile.
Vice President of Preconstruction
Eric Yung has built his career by understanding how every piece of a project connects—from materials and pricing to estimating, coordination, and field execution.
He got his start working in the warehouse of a local plumbing and HVAC wholesaler, where he gained hands-on experience with products, inventory, pricing, and the supply chain side of the business. It was a strong foundation that helped him understand how materials move through a project long before they arrive on the job site. He later moved into project management before expanding his expertise in budgeting, procurement, estimating, and design-build work. Each role gave him a broader perspective on the business and strengthened his understanding of both preconstruction and project delivery.
Since joining Titan Mechanical & Plumbing, Eric has grown alongside the company, helping strengthen collaboration between estimating, procurement, and project management. Today, as Vice President of Preconstruction, he focuses on setting projects up for success long before work begins by aligning scope, schedule, and expectations.
One project that stands out is the Walter Reed I/J Project on the former Walter Reed Hospital campus. The existing garage structure, combined with design changes during construction, created a number of challenges that required Eric to work closely with the GC, engineers, and trade partners to resolve issues and adjust portions of the pump system. Despite the evolving scope, the team successfully navigated every challenge, delivered a profitable project, and reinforced Eric's belief that clear communication, teamwork, and adaptability are what keep projects moving forward when plans change.
Accountability is the standard Eric never compromises on. If he says he'll do something, he takes ownership and makes sure it gets done. He hopes clients remember Titan as a professional, reliable partner that communicates well, delivers on its promises, and is easy to work with from start to finish.
Outside of work, Eric enjoys spending time with family, cheering on Manchester United, and recharging after busy project days. Originally from Hong Kong, he began his construction career in Loudoun County, Virginia, which he now proudly calls home.
Controller
For over a decade, Daniela Vasquez has helped shape Titan Mechanical & Plumbing from the inside out. She joined the company when it operated out of the owner's basement, sharing a single computer, and has grown alongside the business every step of the way.
Daniela's career at Titan spans nearly every corner of the company. From Office Administrator and Project Manager to Purchasing, Warehouse Operations, Accounting, and now Controller, each role has given her a different perspective on the business and shaped her understanding of both operations and finance. Today, that well-rounded experience allows her to see how every department works together to deliver successful projects.
Although she didn't originally plan on a career in construction, Daniela quickly discovered a passion for building organizations. With an entrepreneurial mindset, she treats Titan as if it were her own business—a mindset that's helped guide the company's growth from a startup operation to the well-established contractor it is today.
One of her proudest career moments came while managing commercial tenant fit-out projects, when a general contractor told Titan's CEO they would only award the project if Daniela was assigned as the Project Manager. That vote of confidence reinforced what she believes matters most: earning trust through communication, accountability, and consistently delivering on your commitments.
Today, as Controller, Daniela draws on the experience she gained across operations, project management, and accounting to help keep Titan running efficiently. She never compromises on integrity or kindness and believes Titan's greatest strength is its hardworking people and the opportunities the company creates for those willing to grow.
Outside of work, Daniela co-owns a jewelry business with her mother, enjoys traveling and hiking with her husband and their three Boston Terriers, and is always looking for the next adventure. She loves the construction industry because it's resilient, essential, and built by hardworking people who create and maintain the spaces where we live.
Executive Assistant & Executive Operations Manager
Lindsay Sylmar knows that successful projects happen because hundreds of moving pieces, people, and priorities come together behind the scenes—and she's passionate about making sure they do.
Before joining Titan Mechanical & Plumbing, Lindsay spent more than two decades supporting senior executives across law enforcement, government contracting, and real estate. Her experience spans executive administration, human resources, finance, operations, and strategic planning, including supporting the acquisition of Long & Foster. Each role strengthened her ability to bring structure to complex challenges, coordinate across teams, and help leaders focus on what matters most.
Lindsay has now developed a deep appreciation for the construction industry and everything that happens long before crews arrive on a job site. Today she helps streamline communication, support strategic initiatives, and build processes that keep the leadership team aligned and the company moving forward.
Lindsay is most proud of helping support Titan's continued growth. While she may not be managing projects in the field, she plays an important role in strengthening the systems, communication, and operational support that allow Titan's teams to succeed. Watching ideas evolve from conversations in the conference room into completed buildings that serve communities across the region is one of the most rewarding parts of her job.
Outside of work, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her husband and two children on their 12-acre property in Prince William County. Whether she's working on the family farm, heading to the beach, cheering on Penn State football, or enjoying a day at a Virginia winery, she values the slower pace and quality time with family.
General Manager
Felix Vela brings a field-first perspective to his leadership at Titan Mechanical. His career has taken him from duct installer and service technician to field manager, superintendent, and ultimately general manager — giving him firsthand experience at nearly every level of the work he now oversees.
After moving to the East Coast from California, Felix continued his career in the mechanical industry and found his start in multifamily construction with Titan. Over the years, he has built his approach to leadership around two things that matter on every project: honesty and staying ahead of the work.
For Felix, a successful project isn’t just one that finishes on schedule. It’s one that leaves the client saying, “I want to work with Titan again.” That mindset shapes how he works with general contractors, supports Titan’s field teams, and approaches the new challenges that come with the job every day.
Felix calls Sharpsburg, Maryland, home, where he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids.
Construction Executive
For Bobby Carroll, plumbing is more than a career—it's a family tradition spanning three generations. Over the past five decades, he's worked his way from a green helper to Construction Executive at Titan Mechanical & Plumbing, building a career grounded in hard work, integrity, and a commitment to doing the job right.
Bobby got his start working on a residential apartment complex, where he learned early on the importance of scheduling and how proper planning can make or break a job. He worked his way up from helper to plumber, spending many years as a foreman before transitioning into executive leadership. Those decades of hands-on experience have given him a deep understanding of what it takes to manage crews, coordinate schedules, and successfully deliver complex plumbing projects.
Since joining Titan six years ago, Bobby has played an important role in building and expanding the company's plumbing division. What started with just four employees and two job sites has grown to approximately 23 team members working across 20 projects. As the division has expanded, so has Bobby's responsibility for overseeing multiple job sites, managing personnel, and ensuring projects stay on schedule.
One project that stands out in his career is Hill East, a challenging development that brought together many different aspects of plumbing within a single building. Projects like this reinforce Bobby's belief that successful construction depends on clear communication, realistic schedules, and giving crews the time and resources they need to deliver quality work.
Bobby takes pride in how far Titan has come, especially the close-knit, family-like culture the team has built along the way. That sense of community is something he also appreciates about his hometown of Fredericksburg, Virginia, which has maintained its small-town charm despite its growth. Outside of work, Bobby enjoys spending time outdoors and taking a well-deserved break from the demands of construction.
Superintendent
Guillermo Flores was just 19 years old when his uncle introduced him to the plumbing trade, setting him on a career path that would span more than two decades. What started as an opportunity to learn a skilled trade became a lifelong passion, taking him from laborer to foreman, supervisor, and ultimately Superintendent at Titan Mechanical & Plumbing.
Guillermo's first construction job involved breaking concrete to repair underground piping, an experience that taught him a lesson he still carries today: doing the work right the first time matters. When underground plumbing isn't installed correctly, fixing it later often means doing the same work twice. That early lesson helped shape his attention to detail and understanding of the importance of quality workmanship, proper planning, and following plumbing codes.
Throughout his career, Guillermo has worked on projects of all sizes and complexities, gaining experience in nearly every aspect of plumbing construction. Since joining Titan five years ago, he has witnessed the company's continued growth while developing his own skills and leadership experience.
As a Superintendent, Guillermo understands that trust isn't earned overnight. He believes demonstrating knowledge, communicating clearly, and consistently delivering quality work are what build confidence with general contractors and project partners. He also emphasizes the importance of following plumbing codes and industry standards, recognizing that shortcuts can create serious problems down the road. For Guillermo, dedication is nonnegotiable, both on and off the job.
Guillermo appreciates Titan's team-oriented culture, where employees in the office and field work together toward the same goal. As someone who has spent more than two decades in the trades, he also recognizes the importance of developing the next generation. Looking ahead, Guillermo is excited about how new technologies, including artificial intelligence, will continue to shape the construction industry. He takes pride in knowing his work contributes to an essential industry and leaves a lasting mark on the buildings and communities he helps create.
A longtime Prince George's County resident, Guillermo appreciates the community he's called home for years, including its local food scene and a favorite pupuseria in Beltsville. After spending his days overseeing busy construction sites, he prefers to keep things simple when he's off the clock—heading home, relaxing, and enjoying some well-deserved downtime.
Plumbing Executive
Paul has spent nearly six years with Titan Mechanical & Plumbing, advancing from Foreman to Superintendent and now Plumbing Executive.
One project that stands out in Paul's career is Alta 801, a $69 million, 327-unit multifamily development in Washington, D.C., and his first assignment with Titan. The project presented several challenges, but overcoming those obstacles made it especially rewarding. Looking back on the completed building remains a point of pride and a reminder of what a strong team can accomplish.
Throughout his time with Titan, Paul has witnessed tremendous growth, from managing just a handful of projects to overseeing dozens across the region. He has also seen the company's plumbing and HVAC operations come together under the Titan Mechanical name. Despite that growth, one thing has remained consistent: the company's commitment to its employees.
For Paul, what sets Titan apart is the way the company treats its people. “Titan cares more about their employees than any company I’ve ever worked for,” he says. With a steady pipeline of current and upcoming projects, regular training, and a willingness to support employees, Paul appreciates the stability and opportunities Titan provides.
That commitment to employees is also reflected in the teamwork Paul experiences every day. “A good team is one that is supportive, cooperative, and willing to help whenever needed,” he says. This collaboration is especially important on challenging renovation projects, where office personnel, field crews, and the service division must work together to find solutions. He believes the team's ability to adapt, attention to detail, and technical knowledge are what allow Titan to consistently deliver the reliability and quality its clients expect.
Above all, Paul takes pride in the lasting impact of his work. For him, one of the greatest rewards of a career in construction is being able to stand back, look at a completed building, and say, “I was a part of building that.”
